ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari called on Ghulam Ahmed Bilour, a senior leader of the Awami National Party (ANP), here on Friday to discuss the possible rollback of the 18th Amendment that has provided complete autonomy to the provinces.
The meeting that took place at the residence of the ANP leader raised concern over “the government’s plan on 18th Amendment”. The leaders of the two opposition parties also exchanged views on the current political and economic situation in the country.
A press release issued by the PPP said the two leaders were of the view that all opposition parties were united on the issue of supremacy of parliament.
Mr Zardari said the people of the country were facing a difficult time due to what he called faulty policies of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf government. “Today people from all walks of life are worried about the future of the country,” he added.
