GUJRANWALA: Three girls were injured when the rickety roof of their house collapsed on them on Kasoki Road near Eminabad Mor.

Rescue 1122 shifted the injured girls to the Gujranwala District Headquarters Hospital.

The rundown house belonged to factory worker Zulfiqar. On Saturday, his wife was out of the house when the roof caved in after the consistent rain. Zulfiqar’s three daughters, Sidra, 20, Noreen, 16, and Mafia, 12, got trapped under the debris and received serious injuries.

District Emergency Officer Abid Kamal said the torrential rain and muddy structure hampered the rescue work. He said three people who were trapped under the debris were rescued and shifted to hospital.

KILLED: Three teenagers were killed in a road accident when a truck ran over a car near Wapda Town.

Raheel Asghar, 18, Rohan, 18 and Umer, 14, residents to Khyali, were traveling in their car in the city when a speeding truck coming from behind ran over their car. As a result, their car was crushed under the wheels of truck and all three passengers died on the spot. The truck driver managed to escape.

Rescue 1122 shifted the bodies to hospital and the police registered the case against the truck driver.
