TIMERGARA: Jamaat-i-Islami chief Senator Sirajul Haq has said that weak policies of the incumbent government have caused people hardships.

Addressing the monthly congregation of JI here on Thursday night, he criticised the PTI government for increasing Haj expenses.

Mr Haq said the government had badly failed to provide any relief to the citizens. He said the country was leading toward disparity, default and backwardness owing to the flawed policies.

The JI chief said no one felt protection as was clear from the incidents of Sahiwal and Loralai where innocent civilians were killed.

“Per capita income of each Pakistani today is less than that in India and Bangladesh,” the JI chief remarked, adding the present government too had been following policies of the previous rulers.

The JI chief said the PPP, PML-N and PTI had disappointed the nation while the JI was the last ray of hope for the people. He said Jamaat had a competent, dedicated and honest team across the country.

He said his party would steer the country out of turmoil if given the chance to rule.

He said the JI would contest next general elections under its own flag and manifesto as per suggestion of the JI central ‘shura’.

The JI chief also inaugurated the newly-constructed conference room at the JI district secretariat, Balambat.

DG HEALTH VISITS HOSPITAL: Director General, Health Services, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Dr Arshad Ahmad Khan on Friday visited the district headquarters hospital, the site of the Timergara Medical College, and expressed satisfaction over progress of the work.

He visited different units and wards and also inquired about health facilities and medicines.

He expressed anger over signboards of doctors and politicians inside the hospital and directed the MS to immediately remove them.

The visiting officer also addressed a meeting of government officials at Balambat Jirga Hall and said the government was committed to bringing positive and visible change in the health sector.

About the Timergara Medical College, the DG said it was a reality and construction work was in progress. He said staff shortage at health facilities would soon be overcome.

Earlier, talking to journalists, Dr Arshad Ahmad said power outage had been a big hurdle in hospitals.

He said the department had not enough resources to run power generators at health units regularly.

He said alternative sources for power generation were being planned.
