KARACHI: Binoria Club edged past Usman Club 42-39 in a nerve-tingling final to win the Kashmir Cup basketball tournament here at Arambagh court on Thursday night.
Mohammad Amin was in terrific form for the winners and scored 23 points to lead his team to victory. He was well supported by Saiful and Syedy who scored 8 points each.
For the losing side, the main contributors were Faizan Yousuf and Hamza Khwaja (12 points each), Ahsan Iqbal (8) and Daniyal khan (5).
Shahida Parveen, President Pakistan Sports Welfare Association, was the chief guest at the final and distributed prizes among the players and teams. She lauded KBBA’s efforts in promoting the game and said she is happy to see so many local as well as foreign players playing at Arambagh court now.
Binorial Club’s Mohammad Amin was declared best player while Faizan of Usman Club was named best scorer, Hasan Ali of Arambagh Club was named best forward and Saad Salahuddin of Berns Gymkhana was declared best guard.
