LAHORE: The Punjab government intends to announce its budget for the financial year 2019-20 in the third week of May and has started preparing for it, official sources informed Dawn.

According to them, the authorities concerned have started holding meetings on the issue so as to define parameters for the next year’s budget.

A letter has been sent to all departments, IGP, Lahore High Court and the provincial assembly asking them to start preparing their development schemes and finish the process next month.

They have been asked to furnish first draft of the annual development plan to the planning and development board immediately and upload it on the relevant portal.

The P&D Board member concerned will scrutinise such first drafts of the ADP by March 15.

The departments have also been asked to initiate the process of preparing, submission and approval of PC-I for new schemes to be included in the ADP 2019-20.
