Ramzan Sugar Mills case: NAB files reference against Shahbaz, Hamza

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Monday filed a new reference in the accountability court against PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif and his son Hamza Shahbaz in connection with the Ramzan Sugar Mills case, DawnNewsTV reported.
The father-son duo, leaders of the opposition in the National and Punjab assemblies respectively, have been nominated as the primary accused in the reference.
According to the NAB, Shahbaz Sharif, being chief minister of Punjab, had issued a directive for the construction of a drain in Chiniot district primarily to benefit the sugar mills owned by his sons.
The PML-N president misused his authority as Punjab chief minister to benefit factories owned by his sons, a senior official had told Dawn last month.
The bureau alleges that Shahbaz and Hamza have "fraudulently and dishonestly" caused a Rs213 million loss to the national exchequer. It claims to have obtained "sufficient incriminating" material and evidence during investigation and prayed the court to try and punish the aforementioned accused.
Both Shahbaz and Hamza have pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Shahbaz has already been indicted in the Ashiyana Housing reference, whereas Hamza also faces an inquiry in an income beyond means case.

Our NAB is probably the most incompetent organization of this country as they can't prove anything in the court of law. They sit with the cases for months and years, arrest people for fun and those culprits walk free laughing at NAB.

Stop this charade. Countless references and cases filed. Each being claimed as iron clad with solid evidences. Each being dismissed or debunked by higher courts due to the impotent defense put up by subsequent NAB lawyers. Hundreds of man hours and million of rupees wasted. Not a single conviction or recovery of funds. So please stop playing with the emotions of the masses.

NAB has been unwilling or deliberately providing weak arguments to the court to give relief to big thugs. NAB must be overhauled.

The Takht -e-Lahore and those occupying it in the recent past are in deep troubling waters now. Let us see that these self serving crooks who spent millions together to sustain their family owned assets and make profit by spending public money, face the justice for misuse of power.
One hopes that finally NAB has been able to rope in these thugs, leaving them no room to wiggle out and meet their logical by becoming a historical fact that crime never pays.

This is called politcal withch hunt. High court judge asked how this drain is only used by mill which only open for two to three weeks in whole year. Also judge was told that similar drainage were built in neighbouring villages and used by local population whole year. this is no more than a joke.

The legal process in clearly faulty with many loop holes in favor of the criminals and is moving at snail’s pace which underscores the urgent need for sweeping judicial reforms. Both Shahbaz Sharif and his sons; Hamza and Salman have committed several crimes against the nation and have misused their public offices, yet they are free and moving around shamelessly spreading lies and deceit. NAB is powerless and not capable to pursue completely genuine
case in court. That is why looters get away. How can NAB preare case without
adding solid points which are commonly known to every citizen of Pakistan.
