Student found dead in private hostel

LAHORE: A student of a private university was found dead at the washroom of a local hostel in Nawab Town area on Monday.

Identified as Mohammad Amin (22), the student was a resident of Sahiwal and staying at hostels located in Abbas Plaza of Valencia Housing Society.

The police said initial inquiries couldn’t determine the cause of the death as no torture mark was found.

Some of the boys who were also staying in the hostels, told the police that Amin went to the washroom probably to change his dress before leaving for the university.

After waiting for some time, they got worried as Amin was not responding when the door was knocked repeatedly.

The students later alerted the local police who reached the spot, broke open the door and found Amin unconscious.

He was rushed to hospital where doctors declared him [received] dead, the police said adding that the body was sent for autopsy.

His family had been informed about the incident.
