HYDERABAD: A young woman, said to be a second-year student of nursing studies in Jamshoro, was taken to the Liaquat University Hospital’s city branch in critical condition after she attempted suicide by jumping off her second floor flat in the Hirabad area on Tuesday.

According to SHO Tahir Mughal of the Sakhi Pir police station, the woman, Pooja, had written a brief note she had left in her bag for her father, Dr Mohan. The SHO said that in her note, she apologised to her father and other family members for resorting to take this step but did not reveal a motive.
