Family reluctant to go for Nawaz’s angiography

LAHORE: The Sharif family appears to be reluctant to give a go ahead for the angiography of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.
“The angiography of my father is not a simple matter. There should be a proper backup during the procedure,” Maryam Nawaz told reporters at the Jinnah Hospital on Wednesday.
To a question whether the family wanted his angiography abroad, she did not reply.
PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif also met his elder brother in the hospital. When asked the same question, Shahbaz said: “Let the court’s decision come (with regard to Sharif’s bail petition on medical grounds).”
Earlier, the five-member special medical board of the Jinnah Hospital that examined Mr Sharif submitted its report to the Punjab government.
According to the board, “the patient (Sharif), 69, needs cardiac catherterization, for further management, in view of his symptoms of angina. Because of long standing history of comborbities and complicated cardiac surgical history, a nephrologist and cardiac surgical back up is recommended during the cath.”
Mr Sharif, who is serving a seven-year imprisonment in the Al-Azizia Steel Mills corruption case, was shifted to hospital on Friday from Kot Lakhpat jail for cardiac treatment.

I say to Mrs Mayram Safdar that angiography is a very simple procedure which is normally done in clinics all over the world. Nawaz Sharif's heart irrugularties are not serious and normally associated with old age and rich life style - I advice to NS that focus on strict diet, do some exercise, take your medicine regularly, avoid emotional stress by returning all looted money and retire from dirty politics. This will resolve your present problems, in the meantime, there is no NRO or visit to London for a routine minor check-up. (ACP - Garib Awam ki Awaz).

Every life is important. So much fuss about the health of two brothers. NS was Prime Minister three time and almost equal number of time was Chief Minister. SS remained Chief Minister of largest province of the country for many decades. Why they failed to build a creditable hospital where both brothers can be treated.

What a way to look for relief on useless ground. Angiography is out patient treatment at any ordinary surgical clinic even in Pakistan.
This is all drama to get. bail by the convicted prisoner. This is stress of sentence and return of looted wealth is the main cause.
NS must do right thing by returning looted wealth and then plea for reduced sentence.

it is so sad that Nawaz Sharif was country`s 3 times PM, PML N govt was in power for 30 years, yet they have no trust in the hospitals of the country & the doctors. At least they should trust doctors in their Sharif trust hospital ? they were oo busy looting & corruption through non-priorities projects. No prioritiy on health & education & this is what is today biting them. Let they be treated here in the country like 210 million pakistan are doing, he is not special.

In a country where common men travels miles before getting basic medical treatment, women give birth in hazardous conditions , where it’s a blessing to get a bed in government hospitals. Ex Royal family of our country do not trust best medical centers in Pakistan for simple procedure of “Angiography”which is as per National Health Services (NHS) of uk is a type of X-Ray used to check blood vessels.

Chief Justice Saquib went through angiography. He did not think of going to London. He goit it done in Pakistan and dud not stay in Hospital and resumed duty next day. Why Nawaz wants to avoid? Reason is avoiding sentence, returning looted wealth and intention to fly out leaving Pakistan. Chief Justice was quite other way around.

The decision is entirely Nawaz shariff's. After all he is the patient and knows how much he is suffering. Angiography is not going to give all the answers.!The psychosocial stresses he is facing or imposing on himself are not helping at all. The life has to be lived with all it's trials and tribulations.

Is there no such hospital in this country can do this procedure. Country with more than 90 billion dollar debt, where most of politicians are richest in the world. Look at the neighboring countries where politicians are still coming in bus shuttle from MPA/MNA hostels.

Any medical procedure can be risky and can have unanticipated outcome. Procedures such as Angioplasty, Angiography and even Open Heart Surgery; considering the expertise of the surgeons have been perfected to the extent that risk is minimal. I have gone through an Open Heart Surgery and I was back at work from home after 5 days. My brother in law has Angiography that resulted in implanting 3 stents; and he was back at his blue collar job 3 days after. Pakistani physicians are well known for their professionalism throughout the world. Sharifs should be fine getting treatment in Pakistan.

It is a simple routine procedure. I had this done as an out patient, got there early in the morning to sit around and wait for paper work. Procedure took place at 9:00 am by 2:00 PM I was home. This woman loves to create drama for no reason.

NS must have an unusual and complex anatomy to make a simple angipraphy so difficult. Otherwise such procedures are, I'm sure, peformed by most medical facilities in Pakistan on other 'plebian' Pakistanis everyday, without a problem.

Angiography is a very simple procedure , with a mortality rate of 0.1 to 0.25 even in emergent conditions. It is simply advancing a catheter into Ostia of the coronaries and injecting a dye. So why it is complicated in case of NS

The angiography of anybody's father is not a simple matter. It is a routine medical procedure carried out by qualified medical practitioners. There are many such qualified doctors in Pakistan carrying out the procedure to thousands of fathers in hospitals across the nation every day. You should have faith in the doctors' training and hospital system that your father put so much attention to improving during his three tenures as PM.

The dynasty is aggressively looking for NRO based upon their frivolous concern that backup facilities for conducting angiography procedure in the country, are not upto mark. They are keenly trying to get NS relieved from his present predicament & leave for cozy & at home environment of London, where if the NRO on projected health card materializes, he will opt for his permenant residence in foreseeable future, till change of environments occur.
Based on his close family’s concerns what should ask him that if the existing medical facilities were not satisfactory, why he did not go for building a modern hospital, instead of motorways, with state of art medical equipment and manpower during his three past stint in the govt.
One can hope that the govt. already voluntarily agreeing to his shifting to hospital for necessary treatment does fall prey to such emotional blackmail & let him suffer the same way as thousand others with similar medical condition do, unless it wants to make a deal

Nawaz Sharif and his family fears that there is a plan to kill Nawaz Sharif during the procedure or at the minimum intentionally mess-up the surgery. It is a genuine and very valid concern.

Are you accepting that in 10 years of running Punjab Government and 5 years of running Federal Government your Father's PLM N failed to establish a single hospital where he can get the proper treatment. The whole family is smart seasoned politicians, they know how to get comfort and when to say what. They are well connected and have great spare wealth to spent on corrupt officers who are always ready to serve them in loopholes they are aware in law.
