HARIPUR: An unidentified person attacked a primary school for girls in Bhatt village here on Thursday.

Police quoted Fareed, a guard, as saying that on Thursday morning the school was in session when an unidentified person armed with pistol came there and fired at its main gate without any reason. He told police that the attacker managed to escape when he returned fire.

The guard said that the attacker, whose target was not yet known, fired three shots but only one hit the gate. He added that bullet pierced through the gate but luckily all the staff members and students remained unhurt. Police registered a case and started investigation.
