SWABI: A tehsil councillor submitted a written application on Thursday for a no-confidence motion against Swabi tehsil nazim Wahid Shah and the session of the council had been convened on Friday (today).

Sources in both the treasury and opposition claimed that since assuming power the performance of tehsil government was virtually zero and there was no hope of improvement.

In his application, Shamsul Arafeen, a councillor from Gar Munara union council, criticised the nazim for his behaviour with the councillors.

He alleged that the nazim had failed to deliver according to the wishes of people. He said that development funds were not distributed equally among the council members.

Addressing a function in Chota Lahor tehsil, Ms Perveen said that the UN and human rights bodies should take notice of the continued atrocities against innocent people in the India-held Kashmir.

About the local issues, she said that those who had occupied land of the poor should silently vacate that and let the real owners get their land. Occupying precious land of the poor is an old practice which should be stopped, she said.
