HYDERABAD, July 5: Former Taluka Nazim Haji Moinuddin Sheikh and Municipal Workers Union (CBA) general secretary Akram Rajput on Sunday were booked by the City police for allegedly assaulting one person in the premises of the City TMA on June 27. The police confirmed that case was lodged vide FIR (58/05) under sections 337A(ii), 337F(i), 109 and 34 PPC on the complaint of Mohammad Akbar, son of Raz Mohammad.

Two unknown persons were also nominated in the case.

He claimed he was assaulted by the accused and he received stitches in head after he was beaten.

He said he had scuffled with a doctor because of a controversy with driver of TMA’s sanitary vehicle in his area and the TMA officials did not lodge the FIR against the doctor.

When contacted former Taluka Nazim Moinuddin Sheikh rejected the charges and said that it was being done at the instance of ruling coalition party but such third degree tactics could not break his spirit.

He said such tactics would give him more popularity and he would be able to contest next polls with new vigour.

He said in fact Akbar had supported the driver when he had scuffled with Dr Muhammad Ali in Pinyari police station area after the shade of doctor had been accidentally damaged.

He said the CBA union official apprised him of the facts and he subsequently contacted Pinyari police station for FIR’s registration but the doctor apologized for his mistake and matter was settled amicably between CBA leaders and the doctor. He said Akbar perhaps had been nursing some grudge against Dr Ali.
