HYDERABAD: Police lobbed tear-gas shells to restore law and order after two groups traded gunfire in the red light area over a petty dispute within the limits of the Market police station on Saturday.

A strong contingent of police led by Market SHO Munir Abbasi fired teargas shells to disperse the brawling groups, arrested Rajju and seized two pistols found at the crime scene.

Police said they arrested one of the suspects involved in firing. They said one group was led by Ali Sher and the other by Rajab alias Rajju. They exchanged fire over a dispute involving some children, they added.

An FIR of the incident was yet to be registered.
