LAHORE: Terming Indian premier Narendra Modi’s war hysteria an attack on peace, Governor Chaudhry Sarwar says Prime Minister Imran Khan has laid down the foundation of peace by announcing release of the Indian pilot.

“Now the ball is in Indians court to decide whether they want peace or war. India must act rationally because war will only bring about destruction and chaos,” he said. The governor said Kashmir is jugular vein of Pakistan and Pakistanis would continue supporting it. He said Narenda Modi was whipping up war hysteria to get victory in the upcoming elections.

The governor was addressing the 82nd convocation of Kinnaird College for Women on Thursday.

Board of Governors Chairman Dr. Alexander John Malik, Bishop Emeritus of Lahore and Chairman of the Board and the Association of Kinnaird College for Women, members of the board, faculty members and parents of students were also present.

He said war mongering and hysteria would prove disastrous for peace of the entire region and counterproductive for India.

Kinnaird College for Women Principal Dr Rukhsana David acknowledged the outgoing graduates for their outstanding results.

The chief guest awarded degrees to 596 students at the convocation. He also awarded gold medals to 13 students.
