As Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi announced that Pakistan would not be attending the OIC's Council of Foreign Ministers, politicians, journalists and other commentators shared opinions on the move.

"A joint resolution has been passed by the parliament, signed by all parties, which demands that Pakistan refrain from attending the OIC meeting. In light of this resolution, I will not attend the meeting," said Qureshi in the joint session of parliament on Friday.

Not everyone agrees with the move — which was first proposed by PML-N leader Khawaja Asif in the assembly after India's Line of Control (LoC) violation — but there are also others who believe it was necessary for Pakistan to take this approach.

'A terrible decision'

'Important to engage OIC'

'Pakistan's only mistake so far'

'Pakistan isolated because its foreign policy is dictated by non-professionals sidelining the parliament'

OIC must stand for Kashmiri Muslims instead of hosting aggressor

Pakistan should have used OIC platform to raise voice against Indian violence

'No sense in boycotting OIC moot after deciding to release Indian pilot'

'Not a good decision'

'OIC neglecting plight of Kashmiris, spineless without Pakistan'
