Voice of Punjab auditions to start from Faisalabad

LAHORE: The singing competition — Voice of Punjab — auditions will start from Faisalabad division on March 18.

The auditions will be held there for two days — March 18 and 19. The committee constituted by Minister for Information and Culture Fayyazul Hassan Chohan discussed the details of the contest at Alhamra Art Centre, The Mall, on Monday.

The meeting was presided over by Executive Director Punjab Council of Arts Saman Rai, Executive Director Lahore Arts Council Athar Ali Khan, Director Arts and Culture LAC Zulfiqar Ali Zulfi.

The meeting discussed financial and technical aspects of Voice of Punjab, the recordings of the winning singers, judges panel and other such issues. The meeting was told that widespread projection of Voice of Punjab was being done across the province. A large number of youth was getting themselves registered for the competition. Arrangements were being made to train selected singers by the organisers of the contest, the meeting was told.

Saman Rai said all necessary arrangements for the event were in the final stage. Athar Ali Khan said arrangements had been made for the grooming of the [selected] singers The meeting was told that all programmes from auditions to the grand finale would be aired by PTV.
