KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in recognition of Lyari’s children football teams in age groups of under 10 and 12, has announced cash awards worth Rs100,000 for each player who participated in the recently held Qatar football tournament finals and won the titles. He also announced to develop the football grounds in Lyari.

He made this announcement while meeting with the football players here at the CM House. Chief Minister’s Advisor on Information Murtaza Wahab was also present on the occasion.

Some 27 players of both the teams led by two coaches had participated in Qatar tournament finals and won. Besides giving Rs 100,000 to each of the players, the CM announced Rs200,000 each for both the coaches.

He said that he was proud of the children who have brought fame to the name Lyari and Pakistan with their performance. “We will be supporting you in development of your sports, grounds and other facilities,” he said and vowed to make them best players of the world.

Murad Ali Shah also urged all the children to continue their education along with their sports and presented football kits and ajraks to each player.

Later, the chief minister also played football with the young champions in the lawns of CM House.
