LARKANA: The greatest challenge for underdeveloped countries like Pakistan is to meet the educational goals of the 21st century.
This was stated by MNA Khursheed Ahmed Junejo at a ribbon-cutting ceremony held for handing over newly-built Govt High School Ali Mohammed Chawro on Friday.
The keys of the school were handed over to a representative of IBA Sukkur.
The school was built with the financial assistance of USAID.
Speaking on the occasion, he lauded the assistance of the US and appreciated the Sindh government’s efforts.
The partnership between the US and Sindh government had played a pivotal role in improving quality of education in those schools, he added.
He emphasised that new methods of teaching and learning should be adopted by using modern gadgets and other technologies in order to improve the cognitive capabilities of the children and introduce them to a global perspective of education.
Tarique Qureshi of the Sindh Basic Education Programme (SBEP) said that out of 106 schools, 50 schools had been completed while rest of them were at an advance stage of construction.
Currently, 43 schools were running under the Public-Private Partnership Programme of the Sindh government and more schools would be delivered in near future, he said.
