KARACHI: Omega Basketball Club and Nishter Basketball Clubs have reached the final after inflicting semi-final defeats on their respective opponents in the of the ongoing NBP Pakistan Day basketball tournament being organised by Karachi Basketball Association in collaboration with NBP at the Arambagh Basketball courts on Friday.

In the first semi final, Omega Basketball Club easily overcame One Unit Basketball Club 62-39. For the winners, the main contributors were Taimur Zaheer 13 points, Usman Khalid (12 points), Tahir Naqash and Abbas Qaimkhani (11 points) each and Anas Azhar 10 points.

Despite emerging top-scorer with 15 points, Tashfeen Zaidi could not save his team from defeat. Kashif Sarwar and Talal Ahmed scored nine points each.

In the other semi-final, Nishter Club snatched a stunning win over favo­urites Neighborhood Club 47-42 in a nail-biting contest.

Talha Amjad (17 points), Ali Chenzeb 11 points and Mohammad Shabar ( 10 points) were the main scorers for the winning side while Asad Ali scored seven points.

For the losing team, the main scorers were Abdullah Shah (11 points), Chenway (11 points) and Raja Jahan­zeb (10 points) and Ali Jaffer eight points.

Earlier, both teams were introduced to chief guest Engineer Mehfoozul Haq, President of SOA. KBBA president Ghulam Mohammad Khan and former international player Abdul Nasir were also present on the occasion.
