HARIPUR: Two people were killed and six others injured in three separate incidents here, police said on Sunday.

In the first incident, a teenage girl allegedly committed suicide in a remote village of Beer union council.

Police quoted Mohammad Imtiaz of Ganhari village as saying that he was out of home with his wife leaving behind their daughter, 17, and when they returned they noticed that their daughter was lying unconscious and bleeding in the skull.

She was taken to hospital, but did not survive. The complainant claimed that his daughter had committed suicide.

In the second incident, a boy was killed when he was hit by a bullet during a wedding ceremony in Mohra Ali Khan village.

Police quoted Malik Naveed as saying that the wedding ceremony of his brother-in-law was underway when some of the participants resorted to firing in the air and a bullet pierced through the head of his son, Malik Salman, 9.

He died on the spot, while another person Ghulam Abbas was injured. The police have registered the case.

In the third incident, five persons sustained burn injuries and two shops were gutted when an LPG decanting shop caught fire in Sera-i-Gadai.

Additional SHO Kot Najibullah, Jalil Khan, said on Sunday that Abdul Rehman, an Afghan refugee, was busy filling gas cylinders when fire broke out and engulfed two shops.

Five persons, including two Pesco employees, present there suffered burn injuries.

They were identified as Abdul Rehman, his two sons Saifur Rehman and Azizur Rehman and the Pesco employees Mir Abbas and Mohsan Khan.

Four of the injured were referred to Wah Cantonment Hospital whose condition was stated to be out of danger.

A police official said that no case was registered against the owners who were busy decanting despite ban on the process in populated areas.
