MULTAN: The National Accountability Bureau has asked the Rajanpur deputy commissioner to provide complete details of the properties owned and sold by Punjab Assembly former deputy speaker Sher Ali Gorchani and his 16 family members.

According to a letter written by NAB authorities on March 18, the Rajanpur DC has been asked that a complaint is being processed in the bureau and he should provide complete details of assets of Mr Gorchani and his 16 family members, including his parents, siblings, wife and children, in all tehsils of the district.

Mr Gorchani was the Punjab Assembly deputy speaker during the last PML-N government.

Bureau wants to know about properties of Hina Khar, family

Similarly in another letter issued on March 15 by NAB Additional Director Ahmed Mumtaz Bajwa, the Multan commissioner has been asked to carry out a general search of all the moveable and immoveable properties presently or previously held in the name of former foreign minister Hina Rabbani Khar and her family members, including her husband Feroze Gulzar and their children Ahmed Gulzar, Dina Gulzar and Anaya Gulzar.

The letter stated that the NAB Multan is conducting an inquiry against Hina Khar and others on the allegations of cheating public at large, under the provisions of National Accountability Ordinance 1999.

“It is requested to direct all the officers/officials of the revenue department/computerised land record centres as well as development/regulatory authorities i.e. TMA, cooperatives, excise and taxation department working under your area of jurisdiction, comprising all districts to carry out the general search of the properties,” the letter stated.

A letter in this regard has also been written to the additional district collector (revenue) a day earlier (March 14) in which the names of Ghulam Rabbani Khar, the father of former foreign minister, his wife and seven of his daughters are included and the revenue officer has been asked to provide the certified copies of ownership documents/register deeds executed in their name, if found.

A letter [of the same nature] was written to the Multan regional tax office (RTO) to provide tax details of the family of former foreign minister, including her mother, brother Raza Rabbani Khar and other [family] members.

Meanwhile, the Multan RTO has also been asked to provide the details of tax returns filed since inspection by the association of persons and companies (in Rahim Yar Khan) including Hajveri Oil Industries, Al Miraj Cotton Ginning and Oil Mills and Mimalia Feeds owned by former MNA Mian Imtiaz, Chaudhry Muhammad Munir and others.
