KARACHI: Holders Federal Areas continued their winning spree in the eighth NBP Physical Disability T20 Pentangular Cup when they trounced Sindh by seven wickets at the RLCA Gulberg Ground here on Wednesday.

In the day’s other match, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa defeated Punjab by five wickets.

Sindh, put into bat, were shot out for 93 in the 18th over. Mohammad Asif — the slow left-armer whose right arm had to be amputated when he was very young after he fell from a tree in his village in the Multan region — polished off the tail to end up with startling figures of four wickets for just two runs in 1.5 overs.

Federal Areas easily knocked off the required runs in 14.3 overs to hand Sindh their third straight defeat.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s first win in three matches was inspired by a fourth-wicket partnership of 71 between man-of-the-match Sajjad Khan (55 off 25 balls, eight fours and two sixes) and captain Nihar Alam (an unbeaten 42 off 31).

Earlier Mohammad Shahbaz stood out for Punjab with a blazing 90 off 43 balls (eight sixes and seven fours) as Punjab mustered 164-7 after opting to bat first.
