HYDERABAD: Hyderabad Board of Intermediate and Seco­ndary Education (BISE) controller of examinations Masroor Ahmed Zai on Saturday briefed the media about arrangements for the class-IX and X exams starting on Monday (April 1) in Hyderabad, Tando Allahyar, Shaheed Benazirabad, Matiari, Dadu, Jamshoro, Thatta and Sujawal districts.

He said that 216 centres had been established for the exams and 300 centres for practicals, adding that the practicals would start from April 15.

Mr Zai said that 63 centres had been declared “sensitive” in the eight districts.

He said that a total of 139,859 candidates would appear in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) part-I and II exams. Giving a break-up, he said that out of them, 90,267 were male and 49,592 female candidates.

Arrangements finalised for the exams starting Monday

He said arrangements had been finalised for the holding of the exams in a peaceful and transparent manner. The Hyderabad commissioner had issued directives to the officials concerned for deployment of police at exam centres, he added.

Mr Zai said that a monitoring cell had been established at the board which would be authorised to issue directives accordingly. He said that a campaign was also launched to control copying and use of other unfair means. Administrations of all schools were issued necessary directives in this regard, he added, and warned FIR would be lodged against impersonators. He said all members of the vigilance committees had been provided admit cards of candidates to check impersonation.

He said that in a recent meeting with the Hyderabad DIG, it had been decided that more police force would be deployed at exam centres than before. He said that centralised assessment would be started in four districts — Hyderabad, Mat­iari, Tando Allahyar and Badin — soon after the exams to help experts.
