RAWALPINDI: Divisional Commissioner Joudat Ayaz on Saturday directed Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) to identify loopholes in building by-laws and send references to the government to make amendments in the laws so that they did not hinder housing societies’ registration .

He, however, directed the RDA to take action against those housing societies which were advertising without registration.

The commissioner was chairing a meeting held at commissioner’s office to review RDA’s performance.

Additional commissioner coordination and other senior offices of RDA attended the meeting.

Furthermore, he directed all departments of the RDA to work as per their SOPs and perform their duties professionally without accepting any political pressure or affiliation.

He also directed the RDA to ensure that none of the private housing marketed its project without NOC from the development authority. Likewise registration of these societies is a must for further approval of their projects, he added.

Joudat Ayaz said that land record issues are creating a lot of problems for public so RDA Directorate of Land Record should coordinate with revenue staff in generating correct revenue report.

“Our aim is to raise the living standard of our people by providing them all basic necessities of life so our prime focus should be lessening the problems of public,” he said.
