PESHAWAR, July 11: The National Commission for Human Development (NCHD) is working on a literacy plan for the southern region of the NWFP. This was stated by Tariq Javed Khattak, regional literacy coordinator, while inaugurating Adult Literacy Centre in Hangu district here on Monday. The ceremony was attended by large number of teachers and community men. The teachers were later provided training in the Phoenix Methodology of learning. Currently, 50 centres, (30 male, 20 female) were operational, in which around 1,100 people were enrolled for the specially designed literacy course.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Khattak said that the NCHD was rendering services in literacy and was making every possible effort to provide education at the door-step of every person.
