ISLAMABAD: Karachi’s outclassed Fata to move into the semi-finals of the Inter-Division Basketball Championship here at Hamidi Hall of Pakistan Sports Complex on Thursday.

In the Inter-Departmental Basketball Championship, also being played at the same venue, Army and Wapda also won in their respective matches in the second round of the pool stage to book their last-four berths.

Karachi beat Fata 71-53 with Sana Ahmad and Tahir Naqash earning 24 and 21 points respectively. Haris Khan and Hamza Khan scored 16 and 14 points respectively for Fata.

Federal Secretary Ministry of Communication Shoaib Ahmad Sididiqui was chief guest for the match while Karachi Basketball Association president Ghulam Mohammad Khan was also present there.

Rawalpindi also made into semi-final as they thrashed Mirpurkhas 71-25 while Mardan defeated Kohat 81-39.

Ammar Tughlab and Rashid starred for Army earlier in the day with 28 and 24 points respectively as they overwhelmed POF Wah 109-48.

Aqib Javed’s 18 points led Wapda to a 92-38 win over Railways, for whom Azhar Lala scored 19 points.
