Candy-tasting paid internship, anyone?

Mars Wrigley Confectionery announced it is offering a paid internship for someone willing to taste test new candy flavours in Chicago.

The candy maker, which offered a similar “World’s Sweetest Internship” position last year, said this year’s winning candidate will also be responsible for organising public events and activities on behalf of the company.

The 8-12 week Chicago-based internship will be ‘fully paid,’ carries duties including taste testing new candy flavours, creating a personalised chewing gum flavour, visiting various Mars Wrigley facilities across the county and documenting their experience with the company on social media. The benefits include ‘a signing bonus of one year’s worth of candy.’

Hotel offering ‘Lemoga’ lemur yoga classes

A hotel in England is helping guests unwind with help from some small primates in its latest offering: lemur yoga classes.

Armathwaite Hall, near Keswick, said the lemur yoga classes, or ‘Lemoga,’ feature the Madagascar-native primates wandering among the yoga-practicing humans and sometimes emulating their poses.

“When you watch lemurs they do some form of the poses naturally — that typical pose warming their bellies in the sunshine,” Richard Robinson, manager of the Lake District wildlife park, which partners with the hotel for its series of “meet the wildlife” wellness activities, told.

“It seemed to be a really good combination to encourage people to have a go and spend time with a lemur,” he said.

Gold-dusted burger bun

The world’s most expensive burger has gone on sale in a Tokyo restaurant with a £700 price tag. Chef Patrick Shimada, who works at the Oak Door steakhouse in Tokyo’s Roppongi district, is the man behind the creation — which will be on the menu until June.

The Golden Giant Burger is made up of a one kilogramme patty, Wagyu beef slices, foie gras (a luxury paste made from duck of goose liver), shaved truffle, lettuce, cheddar cheese, tomatoes and onions.

The huge bun, which is six inches wide and 10 inches tall, is dusted with gold. It has been created to celebrate the crowning of the new Japanese emperor, Crown Prince Naruhito.

The website states: “In celebration of the new Imperial era Reiwa and the long Golden Week, The Oak Door steakhouse will serve a special edition of their signature burger that come with two sizes.

“In celebration of this special occasion in Japan, we consider using gold as a traditional ingredient to present this burger for the enjoyment of our dearest guests,” said Chef Patrick Shimada.

Opulent perfume bottle breaks three world records

A Dubai company unveiled a perfume bottle with more than 3,500 inset diamonds and three Guinness World Record titles.

Guinness confirmed the bottle for Shumukh, a unisex fragrance made by The Spirit of Dubai, is a world record holder for most diamonds set on a perfume bottle, with 3,571 of the gems on the bottle.

The perfume is also the world’s most expensive fragrance, with a price tag of $1.295 million per bottle.

The bottle sits in a wheeled pedestal with a remote control that adjusts the height and direction of the spray, making it the world’s tallest commercially available remote-controlled fragrance spray bottle at a total height of 6 feet, 5.6 inches.
