LAHORE: Pakistan limited-overs batsman Asif Ali headed to England on Monday night to play in the One-day International series but said his heart will be with his daughter who is travelling to the USA for cancer treatment.

“My daughter is fighting the stage IV cancer and my family members are taking her to US for her treatment,” Asif tweeted.

He thanked the US authorities for issuing a visa to Noor Fatima ‘within an hour’.

“Keep my princess in your prayers!” the Faisalabad-born cricketer said.

The hard-hitting 27-year-old Asif has played 11 One-day Internationals and 19 Twenty20 Internationals but he was left out of the provisional 15-man World Cup squad.

However, a good series against Eoin Morgan’s side could see Asif making Pakistan’s squad for the World Cup because the International Cricket Council (ICC) this time have allowed all participating teams to finalise their squads by May 23.
