OKARA: Provincial Minister for Education Dr Murad Ras says a team of educationists is working on the new curriculum, which will be the combination of religion and world.

The curriculum will be ready for launch by the next year, and side by side. the Punjab government will provide computers to 2,000 schools in four months.

He said this at the Government Model Girls High School in the city at a function by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Maryam Khan to celebrate the provision of electricity and solar panels to all 1,400 public schools of the district on Friday.

Dr Ras said the educational software worth $9 million would be provided to 2,000 public schools.

He said the balanced curriculum would help create balanced-personality youths which ultimately would benefit the nation. He appreciated the achievement by the district administration and the district education authority with the cooperation of philanthropist who provided solar panels to 19 public schools across the district.

Earlier, DC Maryam Khan said that all schools in the district had electricity. She said that with civil society and donors, they started providing furniture to the public school as such facilities were necessary to provide respectful environment to learners.

At the ceremony, students Zainab Adnan and Tahira Shaukat delivered speeches in English and Urdu while Okara District Public School student Arshaman presented beautiful national songs.

The minister told reporters after the ceremony that he scheduled a meeting today with the authorities of Punjab Examination Commission authorities to discuss the examinations of class 5 and 8. Chief Executive Officer-education Rana Sohail Azhar Khan also addressed the ceremony.

DIES: A minor boy was run over by a Rescue 1122 ambulance at village 35-GD. The ambulance, driven by Yasin, rushed to the village to shift Riaz Bibi, who suffered electric shocks, to hospital when five-year-old Abdullah died under its wheels.

He was playing in the village street. The Gogera police registered a case.
