TAXILA: The Punjab government has allocated Rs4.45 billion for provision of basic facilities in Attock district.

This was stated by Chairman Punjab Public Accounts Committee Syed Yawar Bokhari while addressing a press conference in Attock on Tuesday.

Syed Yawar Bokhari said approval for Mother and Childcare Hospital in Attock had been given for which Rs3.75 billion has been allocated, while DHQ Hospital Attock is being made 125-bed hospital.

He said that Attock district had been given status of model district in health sector for which Rs700 million were being spent and now all the basic health units across the district will remain open round the clock.

Yawar Bokhari said that health cover would be given to 100,000 families of Attock district.

Besides a technical university, nursing college would also be built whereas establishment of medical college is on the cards.

He said that Sanjwal road, Bolianwal to Gharsheen road and Sheenbagh to Teen Meela roads will also be built.

Replying to a question, he said that the problems of Comsats University students will be solved and a Regional Campus of Allama Iqbal University will be established in Attock having all facilities.

While talking about Public Accounts Committee Punjab, Yawar Bokhari said that at present 125,000 audit paras pertaining to different departments were lying pending and to clear these audit paras, necessary steps are being taken on war footing.
