FIR filed against PTM's Gulalai Ismail for allegedly inciting violence, defaming state

Islamabad police on Wednesday filed a case against Gulalai Ismail — a leader of the Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement (PTM) — for allegedly defaming state institutions, creating unrest and inciting violence.
The first information report (FIR) lodged against the PTM leader mentions sections 500 (punishment for defamation), 153-A (promoting enmity between different groups, etc) and 124-A (sedition) of the Pakistan Penal Code, as well as sections 6/7 of the Anti-terrorism Act, 1997.
According to the FIR, a copy of which is available with Dawn, Ismail purportedly incited law-abiding citizens to commit treason and violence, while addressing a protest demonstration against the brutal rape and murder of a 10-year-old girl named Farishta.
The FIR accuses Ismail of delivering hate speech, inciting ethnic sentiments against the state and Pakistan Army, and causing a sense of fear and terror among people.
PTM is a rights-based alliance that, besides calling for the de-mining of the former tribal areas and greater freedom of movement in the latter, has insisted on an end to the practices of extrajudicial killings, enforced disappearances and unlawful detentions, and for their practitioners to be held to account within a truth and reconciliation framework.

As a proud pukhtoon myself I categorically condemn such venomous and opportunistic people who work on foreign agendas to malign their own motherland. The likes of her and PTM serve hostile states against Pakistan and 99.99% pashtoons do not support them. They can only mislead a few gullible citizens with their nefarious designs. Pashtoons are the most patriotic citizens of Pakistan , they have always rendered sacrifices for their motherland and always will.

It took 4 days and the Life of Farishta to register an FIR. Young Doctor's FIR against the Health Minister of KP never registered despite the long sufferings of innocent patients. Yet, the FIR against the human rights activist is booked strangely and swiftly.

She is nobody among Pukhtoons and I speak on behalf of our people as our family is from the village of Frontier Gandhi aka Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan and are distant relatives to them.
PTM at best can mislead some people in a few villages near the border areas at best. They are trying to sow divisions based on ethnicity while forgetting their backers are not only under occupation but also living with Usbeks and Tajiks and have been fighting with Persian speakers vs Pukhtoons from past many generations.

With pashtoon friends among me as well stories I heard from our elders about pashtoons love to nation and strongly influenced us as well being non pashtoons. but this PTM is trying to wipe out all these pashtoon shaheeds name just for there personal agenda. Issue of missing persons will definitely draw the attention of Lawful citizens of Pakistan for knowing the exact cause of enforced disappearance and unnecessarily prolonging of the illegal detention of such citizens.It will certainly bring bad name to our beloved country,s administration and liable institutions,therefore deserve immediate attention of state to release such detainees or else allow them to contest their offence,if any, in the court of Law.

Grievances may be because of your own country fellows or because of government institutions, they have to be solved here. But to speak the way you like is not allowed in any mannered society. State and state institutions should be respected. Mind it your problems have to be solved here and by these organs. And if you have some other support then you have to be accountable.
