MANSEHRA: A man with the help of his mother allegedly burnt to death his wife over a domestic issue here on Monday.

The incident occurred in Shahlia area on the outskirts of Mansehra where a man with the help of his mother sprinkled petrol over his wife, then put her on fire, leaving her seriously injured.

She was rushed to the King Abdullah Teaching Hospital where doctors pronounced her dead.

A complainant lodged FIR with police, stating that his daughter was married off half a year ago and her husband and his mother used to torture her without any reason.

“The mother and her son put my daughter on fire after sprinkling petrol on her,” said the complainant, adding his wife and a son were present at the time of the incident.

The police after lodging FIR under section 302 of CrPc arrested the victims’ husband and raids were being conducted for the arrest of his mother.

Also, a speeding vehicle seriously injured Mohammad Waqas in Lassan Nawab area. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.
