KARACHI: The All Pakistan Newspapers Society (APNS) has expressed its gratitude to Prime Minister Imran Khan for his directives to initiate the process of payment of long outstanding dues of media.

APNS president Hameed Haroon and secretary general Sarmad Ali in a statement on Saturday said that under the directives of the prime minister some dues pertaining to advertisements published in the print media had been cleared by the federal as well as the Punjab governments. The APNS appreciated that due to keen interest and consistent efforts of Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting, the above payments were made possible. The APNS office-bearers expressed the confidence that the pace of the process would continue and substantial balance payments would be made before the end of June 2019.
