QUETTA: A policeman was shot dead in Goharabad area of Sariab, on the outskirts of the provincial capital, on Sunday night.

A police official said that Constable Ahmed Jan Parkani was on his way to home after offering Taravih prayers when gunmen riding a motorcycle opened fire on him.

The policeman died on the spot and the body was shifted to the civil hospital. “The police constable received multiple bullet injuries and died before reaching the hospital,” hospital sources said. The police termed the killing an incident of targeted killing.

Meanwhile, a traffic policeman and a passerby were injured recently when gunmen opened fire on them in the Killi Baro area. The attacker was killed in the retaliatory fire.
