KARACHI: The owner of reigning Pakistan Super League champions Quetta Gladiators has strongly refuted the claims made in a section of the media that his franchise has not cleared all dues related to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) well within the prescribed time frame.

In a statement issued here on Tuesday, franchise owner Nadeem Omar said that Quetta has been following a policy of not being among defaulters since the beginning of the PSL more than three years ago.

“It may be noted that Quetta Gladiators has been one of the first Franchises to clear all PCB dues in a timely manner since the start of the Pakistan Super League,” Nadeem pointed out in reference to a media report that the news item which it mentioned that almost all six franchises PSL had been defaulters just 15 days before the start of the fourth edition of the annual tournament.

“The management of Quetta Gladiators would like to point out that the franchise had cleared its mandatory annual fees in November 2018, which was long before the start of the fourth edition on Feb 22,” Nadeem said.

The Gladiators, the runners-up in the first two editions, finally won their maiden title this year when they outclassed Peshawar Zalmi in the final in Karachi.
