GUJRANWALA, July 20: More than 500 aspirants of different political parties filed their nomination papers during the last three days. Reports said that various political parties, including the ruling PML, the PPP and the PML-N, finalized their panels on 188 UCs’ seats in the district and their nominated aspirants filed their papers on Wednesday. At least 200 more aspirants for the seats of nazim, naib nazim and general councillors filed their papers on the last day.

Meanwhile, provincial Transport Minister Rana Shamshad Ahmad Khan also finalized his panels for four union councils of Kamoki who filed their nomination paper on the last day.

According to reports, ruling party leaders held a meeting at the residence of the provincial minister and finalized the panels.

It was learnt that Rana Muhammad Arif and Nazir Abid were nominated aspirants on the seat of nazim and naib nazim of UC No 156, Chaudhry Amanat Ali Bhuller and Sheikh Muhammad Saleem for UC No 157, Mahmood Ahmad Butt and Prince Liaquat Ali Gill for UC No 159 and Younas Ansari and Abid Lodhi for UC No 161.

All the aspirants filed their nomination papers along with their seconders. — Correspondent
