KARACHI: A woman in her mid-40s and her eight-year-old girl were crushed to death by a train in Malir on Tuesday.

The police and volunteers of a charity organisation said that Faiza and her daughter Nazish were run over by the train while they were crossing the railway tracks.

The bodies were taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for medico-legal formalities.

Separately, a 28-year-old man committed suicide by hanging himself with a rope at his home in Machhar Colony on Tuesday, an official said.

He said that Shahid Ahmed committed suicide due to domestic problems.

Meanwhile, at least two persons were killed and three others injured in separate traffic accidents in the city on Tuesday, adds PPI.

Rescue sources said that 18-year-old Afzal was killed and Wahid and Owais were injured when a vehicle hit their motorbike near Bilawal House in Clifton. The dead and the injured were shifted to the JPMC.
