MIRAMSHAH: A civilian was martyred while five others, including three soldiers, suffered injuries in separate bomb blasts in North Waziristan tribal district and adjacent Bannu subdivision on Friday.

Witnesses said an improvised explosive device went off near Bilal Mosque in Mirali Bazaar when troops were patrolling the town.

Three soldiers identified as Imtiaz, Ghafoor and Mabood sustained serious injuries. Security forces searched the area, but no arrest was made.

Second incident took place at Gorbez in Bannu subdivision, where an explosive device planted near a shop went off, killing one person on the spot and injuring another.

Separately, a 12-year-old girl was grazing sheep in Manzerkhel area of Datakhel tehsil when a low intensity device exploded. She got injuries and was taken to the district headquarters hospital, Miramshah.
