KOHAT: Al literary session was held in the KDA Township here on Sunday, where two tribesmen from Mohmand tribal district having written Naats and poems in Seraiki and Urdu languages, were introduced.

The function was held at the residence of a local literary figure, Prof Mohammad Iqbal.

The poets recited excerpts from the poetry of Jaun Elia, Dr Bashir Badar, Ahmed Faraz and other prominent figures.

Former MPA Aurangzeb Advocate was the chief guest.

The two Mohmand tribesmen, Usman Khan and Mohammad Talha Maaz, working as labourers at a guava orchard, recited Naats and poems.

Haji Naeem, a poet, presented a research paper on late Faraz, highlighting the specific terminology used by the renowned poet in his poetic work.

The participants offered Fateha for the departed soul of young son of the great poet Faiz Ahmed Faiz.

SECURITY TO CANDIDATES PROMISED: Orakzai tribal district police officer has said that every candidate of the provincial assembly elections would be provided foolproof security jointly by army and police so that they can continue their campaigns without any fear.

In a statement issued from regional information office here, DPO Silahuddin Kundi, while talking to journalists, said the police had taken formal charge and Khasadars and Levies had been assigned their new duties. He said so far over 15 FIRs had been registered at the Kalaya and Ghiljo police stations.

Mr Kundi said new laws were being implemented according to the traditions and norms of the tribesmen by involving communities and elders in decision making.
