DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Personnel of Counter-Terrorism department killed a suspected terrorist and arrested his accomplice during an encounter in the cantonment area of the Dera city here on Sunday.

Regional police officer Feroz Shah told mediapersons that terrorist, Ziaullah was wanted to police in 13 cases of target killing and kidnapping for ransom.

He said the CTD team raided a compound where Ziaullah and his accomplice, Javed, were hiding. He said terrorists opened fire at the raiding party, adding Ziaullah was killed and Javed injured during the ensuing exchange of fire.

Mr Shah said CTD arrested Javed and shifted him to an unknown location. Police said weapons, including hand grenades, were also recovered from the hideout.
