KARACHI: Pakistan’s both outfits 1 and 2 stepped into the knockout round of the Asian Team Snooker Championship which commenced at Doha on Wednesday.

According to results, Pakistan 1 that comprised Mohammad Bilal and Asjad Iqbal opened its campaign by notching up 3-2 victory over Singapore (50-62, 58-64, 100-1, 82-51, 72-20) and then thrashed India 2 3-1 (68-14, 19-96, 77-12, 66-37) to top group A.

Similarly, Pakistan B which consists of Zulfiar A Qadir and Babar Masih, won its both matches to emerge group D champions. They outplayed Philippines 3-0 (114-0, 80-16, 80-9) and inflicted 3-1 defeat on Myanmar (72-34, 74-30, 62-69, 74-40).

As many as 18 teams from 15 nations are competing in the event. They have been equally drawn in six groups.
