QUETTA: The Quetta Electricity Supply Company (Qesco) has said that it is receiving 50 to 60MW of electricity from Iran against its demand of about 100MW that is causing loadshedding in different areas of Makran division.

A spokesperson for Qesco said here on Tuesday that at present the company was carrying out 10-hour loadshedding in urban areas and 14-hour loadshedding in rural areas of Gwadar and other districts of Makran division due to 50 per cent shortage of power supply from Iran.

He said Iran was supplying 50-60MW against the demand of 100MW electricity from 12 noon to 6pm to the company in Makran. He rejected the claim that 18-hour loadshedding was being carried out in Gwadar and some other areas of Makran region.
