Maryam warns of going on a hunger strike if Nawaz not allowed homemade food

Maryam Nawaz, the daughter of incarcerated former premier Nawaz Sharif, on Monday warned that she would go on a hunger strike if the government doesn't allow her father homemade meals.
"The fake government has imposed restrictions on homemade meals for Nawaz Sharif. The staff who took his food has been waiting outside the jail for the last five hours," she said via a tweet.
"Mian sahab has refused to eat prison food. If they [the government] do not take back this restriction in the next 24 hours, then I will contact the court."
"If I don't get help from the court, then I will sit outside Kot Lakhpat jail. Even if I have to go on a hunger strike, I will do it," she warned in another tweet.
"I don't trust these oppressors; they can mix anything in Mian sahab's food," she said, adding her warning should not be considered a mere threat and that she would go through with it.
Later in the day, PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif also took to Twitter to condemn the restriction on homemade food for Nawaz Sharif.
He said Mian Nawaz Sharif is a heart patient and depriving him of homemade food is a grave oppression. He demanded the government to immediately ensure the provision of home-cooked meals to Nawaz.
Sources told DawnNewsTV that the jail authorities imposed the restriction as per directions of the home department. According to the sources, the former premier will be served food as per the jail menu.
Nawaz Sharif is currently serving seven-year imprisonment in the Al-Azizia Steel Mills case in Kot Lakhpat jail.
Last week, Punjab chief minister’s spokesperson Shahbaz Gill had said: "No meal restrictions have been placed on Nawaz Sharif as reported by a section of the media. Even today [July 2], his meal came from his home.”
The Punjab government only suggested forming a doctors’ panel to advise diet chart and provide him a cook for the same, he said.
“Dr Adnan, personal doctor of Nawaz Sharif, meets him regularly but every time misleads everyone on his health issues only to keep his job. This is unfortunate. He is not a cardiologist but the Sharif family keeps insisting on his cardiac expertise, only for propaganda purposes,” he added.

I am sorry, but if you call my vote 'fake' and say that homemade food must be allowed for one individual only then you truly are moving the party in the wrong direction. The right way would be to pass a Bill in parliament and allow homemade food for all individuals in jail, keeping in mind that you need to provide all food safety restrictions as well.

Maryam Nawaz must be made to respect equal implementation of law and guideline dictated per Jail Manual. If she is willing to provide home made food for every citizen kept under the jail custody then she can request a special permission from competent authority. If she wishes to go on hunger strike in support convicted offender she may do so at her own risk. Such black mailing tactics would not impress a common citizen who have been victim of her father's misdeeds and immoral acts.

Why should the jail management mix poison in the meal of an individual that is already morally dead. If you are not trusting the jail crew by teaming them dishonest, be rest assured that it is not your regime in which anything could have been possible without shame. If other people are allowed to bring and eat home-cooked meals at the Kot Lakhpath jail, Lahore, her dad should also avail the same opportunity, otherwise, no.

Two glaring issues with your request:
1) what about availability of home-made facility food other prisoners with even worse medical conditions than your father NS, and,
2) Your home made food (like Aaloo gosht, Mehar I, which are high corbs & and source of protein) which is prone to augment blood sugar and high BP. Jail food like lentils are good source of protein for diabetics, heart and kidney disease.

Nawaz Sharif should be served food as per jail rule and regulations for prisoners.She had already put herself and all persons sitting with her in the press conference where she scandalized the judge in deep legal trouble. Onus to prove the authenticity of the audio- video in the court of law is on Maryum Nawaz . If an ordinary prisoner in any jail in Pakistan can have home made food why not Nawaz Sharif and other PMLN or other political party leaders / workers.
The food cooked in jail is not hygienic in any way for any prisoner.
What is wrong with it if the prisoners get home made food which will cut the cost of food prepared in jails.

Who is Nawaz Sharif? He is a convict and should be treated like one. Like all the other convicts in Kot Lakhpat jail. The moment he was convicted and sentenced to serve 7 years in jail, he seiezed to be the prime minister. So whats his daughter trying to say. Read the jail manual. At least she would get to know the taste of hunger and may be it helps her in spending the ill- gotten wealth on the the poor. What she or her father eat is not the issue. If Maryam really has the interest of poor at heart, as she claims, the proper way would be either to pass a bill so that every jailed person has access to home made meals, or press the govt to improve jail food, which mian sahib can have with other prisoners.

First of all Maryam Nawaz should not issue such like sweeping statement but ever since she has also said it publicly let me improve upon her statement so that it turns into real threat to shake PM Imran and his battalion. She should have said that from 1pm Monday 8th July 2019 I am on hunger strike at the gate of Kot Lakhpat Jail till I die or my father former PM Nawaz Sharif is allowed to eat home cooked food whichever comes first. Surely the decades in power should have left behind a set of impartial institutions designed to act according to the law and therefore the Nawaz family should have nothing to fear. If that is not the case then what were they doing all that time in power.
