TAXILA: Burnt bodies of a couple were found from separate areas in Attock on Wednesday.

Police sources said Shakir Lahori, a cook at a hotel in Dhurnal area of Fatehjang police station, went missing along with his wife a few days ago.

On Wednesday, some shepherds spotted a gunny bag in Qualyar wooded area in Mallal union council, emitting a foul smell.

They informed the police who found the decomposed body of the missing man from the gunny bag. Later, the body of his wife was also found from a water tank in mutilated condition.

Quoting doctors at THQ hospital, the police said the couple was first killed and later their bodies were set on fire.

Police believe that the couple was murdered for honour as the deceased woman had contracted second marriage with the man a few months ago. Police handed over the bodies to their respective families.

The police have registered a double murder case against unknown assailants and started further investigation.
