KOHAT: The district administration has sealed seven private schools for charging summer vacation fees from students in violation of the orders of the Peshawar High Court.
Deputy commissioner Matiullah Khan had warned the private schools’ managements of action if they collected summer vacation fees from students.
Additional commissioner-III Murad Ahmed Hoti along with assistant director of Private Schools Regulatory Authority sealed seven schools for violating the court orders.
A statement issued here on Wednesday said the said schools had charged the fees of June, July and August in advance from the students.
It said directives had been issued to all the schools and colleges to implement the PHC decision, otherwise strict action would be taken against them.
Meanwhile, the civil society demanded crackdown on more than 400 schools because majority of them had already charged the three months fee from students.
Meanwhile, Sajid Khan, an office-bearer of the private schools association, Kohat, said they were bound to charge the fee during summer vacations because they had to pay the salaries of teachers.
