Many parts of Punjab along with the northern region of the country experienced heavy rainfall on Tuesday, causing massive urban flooding and damage to houses.
Among the cities of Punjab most severely affected was Lahore, whose streets lay inundated, making travel cumbersome.
Nevertheless, the spell of hot and humid weather which was persistent earlier in the month was broken. Some people refused to let the rain dampen their spirits and continued about their daily activities.

This is not good, wherever you look you see rain water accumulating. This will become a big health hazard down the road. Water borne diseases are one the worst killers. Are there any drainage system in the city to carryout the water to the reservoirs for water reserves? If this water is diverted to the reservoirs, it will become a blessing for the city but if you let it sit around then it will causes a havoc in the form of diseases.
This is 21st century, where are the drainage systems and water reservoirs?

Before any government talks about building motorways or flyovers, they better build drain systems in our cities, human and animal waste floats the streets every time it rains and floods, and people swin in it, specially children, than you wonder why people are getting sick.

It is so sad that our leaders have made Metro Buses but they no suitable water drainage system.
Pictures of ordinary people suffering is heart breaking. The fruit vendor, man on cart with one or two kilos of fruit only.
Who will improve lives of ordinary people of Pakistan and when?

This is the city where Sharif mafia corrupt local leaders win seats to win Punjab and res of Pakistan. Look at this decades of iron fish rule and what it led to, city still doesn't have a proper sewage system. They want to come in power again, Sharif banned 4 life for corruption and money laundering, not to forget the cunning daughter and rest of the zardari family mafias.

This is the life of a common Pakistani. While ex rulers are in jail for corruption and looting wealth of Pakistan. These two people belong to the two main political parties who ruled Pakistan when army was not ruling it.

The lighter tone of the photos was nice. Almost all big cities face some sort of flooding once in a while. Cities can only build drains for regular heavy rainfalls, not extreme events. The cost would be too much. Better to get rid of the plastic bag which clogs up everything and for that everyone is responsible.

Shiny buses and flyovers were the Sharifs' priorities, not a functioning sewage system.

We always talk about government to keep us straight instead of also using our own brain and body. Talking about this scenario, yes government bodies should be activated to tackle the situation but at the same time we should also consider our waste disposal habits and methodologies. Whatever bigger and efficient drainage system you have, plastic bags and solid waste will always choke it. So building and construction of any infrastructure is government's responsibility but using it properly and carefully is public's responsibility, you know we should share responsibilities.

Civil Engineering works like building good drains capable of handling this sort of flood waters, cost a lot of money. The public must understand that taxes generate revenue for public works of this nature. Tax avoidance is a sin. Ofcourse Kleptocracy is the biggest sin.

Same story every year.
Lahore administration should prepare in advance for this.
They should find a permanent solution for this
This is one of the big city of Pakistan.
I don’t think, there should be any excuse for this

Lahore like Karachi needs a well planned drainage system.
Unfortunately, the 35 years PMLN rule did not give it a priority as they were busy in more showy projects which yields more kickback also.

Wonder why no Lahori asked for this when PMLN were in power. Happens all the time, but 30 years of previous governance has achieved nothing
