KARACHI: Bounce Basketball Club captain Saifullah Sherwani receives the winners trophy from chief guest Col Mazhar Hussain as host Shahida Parveen and other KBBA officials look on.

KARACHI: Bounce Club defeated favourites Neighborhood Club 52- 45 in the final to win the SSB Shohada-e-Pakistan basketball tournament in style at the International Abdul Nasir Arambagh court on Saturday night.

Mohsin Riaz led the team’s success with as many as 20 points. He was well-assisted by Rehab Naeem (15 points) and Zia Ahmed (10 points).

For the runners up, Abdullah Khan and Ali Jaffer scored 10 points each while Seemi Gillani scored 9 points.

Later chief guest Col Mazhar Hussain gave away the Hakim Muhammad Said Trophy and the Liaquat Ali Khan Shaheed Trophy to with winners and runners-up respectively.

The Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Trophy was shared by Zia Ahmed of Bounce Club and Abdullah Khan of Neighborhood Club,

On the occasion, KBBA president Ghulam Muhammad Khan, announced that the Independence Day Cup will be held from Aug 16 to 18 while Junior Cup will be held from Aug 20 to 27.

Engineer Kafeel Hussain presided over the function,

Earlier, Rangers and police bands performed on the occasion to pay homage to the Shohada of the nation.

The event was organised by Pakistan Sports Welfare Association in collaboration with KBBA.
