KOHAT: Police have introduced free mobile SOS SMS alert service for all banks and financial institutions in the Kohat division by establishing a coordinated liaison with them.
Chairing a meeting of the heads of all the banks at his office, regional police officer Tayyab Hafeez Cheema assured them that they would be provided peaceful environment for functioning, but they should also remain vigilant.
He explained to them that in case of any emergency they should just press a button on the mobile phone and the site would appear on the computer screen through Google map and buzzer of the telephone of the concerned police station would start ringing.
He said it was a multi-function digital database network and service would be available for 24 hours.
Similarly, he said security in the whole division had been raised to red-alert keeping in view the recent incidents, and issued guidelines to the police to remain vigilant and keep an eye on suspicious people.
PAVEMENT OF STREETS: District nazim Naseem Afridi inaugurated here the other day construction work on pavement of streets and drainage system in villages along the Rawalpindi Road, funded by a local cement company.
Speaking at a ceremony, the nazim said 1,485 feet of drainage lines would be laid and 995 feet of streets paved, and hoped that the company would continue its welfare projects in the future too.
Company officials said that their goal was to improve the infrastructure to raise the living standard of the people in villages.
