HARIPUR: The body of a married woman who was allegedly murdered by her in-laws was exhumed here on Thursday after three months on court orders.

Police and doctors said that the body of Nabila Kausar, 25, wife of Malik Zarin of village Kakotri was found hanging from the ceiling fan while the body of her nine-month-old son Malik Shah Zeb was lying on the bed in their room on the morning of April 12.

The victim’s in-laws and husband informed the police that Kausar committed suicide after strangulating her infant over some unknown reasons while her husband Malik Zarin was out of home on the night of the incident.

However, Kausar’s father Kala Khan accused her husband and other family members of poisoning his daughter and her son before hanging her from the ceiling fan. He lodged FIR against them and moved an application for exhuming the body.

The body was exhumed by a team of doctors with the help of police and TMA staff and shifted it to Trauma Centre where samples of the body were obtained for investigation.
