LAHORE: The Lahore High Court has introduced a new Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for quick implementation of judicial orders putting a person’s name on the Exit Control List (ECL) to avoid delay in such matters.
A circular issued by LHC judicial branch says that placing name of someone on the ECL under court orders is a sensitive matter and negligence or delay in such matter might provide a chance to a person required to be barred from traveling abroad to leave the country.
“The sensitivity of the matter desired complete surveillance on part of the concerned official till its compliance, whereas it has been noticed that such matters are being dealt with in routine,” it adds. Following a notice taken by the chief justice, the LHC establishment has approved an SOP which requires court staff to send complete files of such cases to additional registrar (judicial) with particulars of the person required to be placed on the ECL.
The additional registrar then will communicate the court orders to the quarters concerned and follow up the matter till compliance of the judicial orders, the circular adds.
